Marissa Laverne Daniel better known as “Marvelous Marissa” was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After graduating from Milwaukee School of Entrepreneurship (2007) she attended Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin however she always wanted to attend a Historical Black College.
She took a leap of faith and applied to Clark Atlanta University as a transfer student and luckily she was accepted on her 19thbirthday in May 2008. Her most memorable moment at CAU is when she interviewed WSB’s TV retired news anchor/reporter Monica Pearson in front of a live studio audience on her talk show in college called, “Making a Difference with Marissa.” She graduated from Clark Atlanta University with tears of joy on May 21, 2012 with her undergraduate degree in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Radio, TV and Film.
Marvelous Marissa goes on WATC TV 57 monthly to encourage people to call in for prayer and to give their lives to Christ on Atlanta Live. She always had a passion for television and one of her heart desires was to be a Television Talk Show Host. Through constant prayer and her faithfulness to GOD he answered her prayer and blessed her with her own television talk show called “Broken into Beautiful” that airs on WATC and every Sunday night at 9pm on comcast channel 24. She is also a regular host for Atlanta Live on WATC.
Marvelous Marissa was the first Gospel radio host for IBNX Radio Network. She hosted “The Praise in You” gospel radio show every Sunday from 3pm-5pm on NX 109 thee solid rock on IBNX radio.com. The Praise in You radio show was voted one of the top shows on IBNX network. Her television talk show Broken into Beautiful has become such an inspiration that she was awarded the 2018 Power Award from the 2018 Girl Power 3 NOW Conference. She was also recognized by her alma mata as a “Distinguished Alumni” from Clark Atlanta University and she was recently featured in Voyage ATL as a hidden gem in Atlanta. She recently published her first book entitled, “From Brokenness to Marvelous.” This book is based on her life’s experiences and how God has blossomed her from a broken little girl into a marvelous woman of God. Her book could be found on Amazon, CAU bookstore and in your local bookstores here in Atlanta, GA. Her book is also in her hometown Wisconsin and in East Chicago Public Library.
Marvelous Marissa is often booked for speaking engagements and hosting opportunities. She is known for her positive bubbly energy that captivates the audience and her goal is to bring smiles and laughter to the crowd. She lives by her favorite scripture, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, Lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways remember him and he shall direct your path smooth and straight,” Proverbs chapter 2 verses 5-7.
